Meet The Doctor


Hailing from northern Michigan, Dr. James Allen graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. He received his general dental degree from the University of Detroit in 1985, graduating with honors. He was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon and Sigma Nu honor societies while in dental school. Upon graduation he was selected for a general practice dental residency at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia Pennsylvania.

After spending several years practicing in Philadelphia, Dr. Allen returned to Michigan and practiced general dentistry while teaching at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. He was accepted into the Endodontic program at Michigan, and graduated with a Master’s Degree of Science in 1993. He has practiced endodontics in southwest Michigan ever since.

Dr. Allen is a member of the American Dental Association, the Michigan Dental Association, the Lakeland Valley Dental Association, the American Association of Endodontists, and the Michigan Association of Endodontists. He is also a fellow in the American College of Dentists.

On a personal note, Dr. Allen and his wife Michele have two daughters Beth and Rebecca. He enjoys travel and outdoor recreation with his family. He is also a musician, playing the drum set for a number of area musical groups.
